Social media, in par­tic­u­lar Twit­ter, has emerged from 2009 as one, if not, the top mar­ket­ing tool avail­able espe­cially for small busi­nesses. The suc­cess with which busi­nesses like Dell, Pizza Hut and oth­ers have been able to use Twit­ter to real­ize increased busi­ness that is fun­da­men­tally based on two way con­ver­sa­tions with buy­ers has insured social media’s place in the mar­ket­ing tool box.

For artists, social media whether Twit­ter, Face­book, blogs or any com­bi­na­tion, has all but elim­i­nated geo­graph­i­cal bar­ri­ers from the sales process. Artists using any of these tools with ded­i­cated effort have real­ized new income chan­nels that were not imag­in­able in 2008. Today, we’ll take a look at those tools…
